My wife Gay and I started coming to the Santa Ynez Valley as tourists in 1986. We visited Solvang primarily and when we retired, we decided to move to Solvang, and truly love it here. After relocating over nine years ago we engaged with city government and accepted appointments to serve the city.

About Mark Infanti

  • Member of the Solvang City Council since 2020

  • Served on the Solvang Board of Architectural Review for over 4 years (now called the Design Review Committee)

  • Current board member for the Groundwater Sustainability Agency for the  Eastern Management Area

  • Current board member for the Santa Barbara Air Pollution Control District

  • Solvang General Plan Update Advisory Committee member

  • Earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Texas at El Paso

  • A 40+ year career as a project management consultant to the federal government and major government contractors

  • A UCCE certified California Naturalist and a docent at the UCSB Sedgwick Reserve

  • Mark and his wife Gay were tourists from Orange County to Solvang for 33 years before moving to Solvang in 2013. Both supported the city as board/commission appointees

  • Member and active supporter of the Solvang Vikings, Elverhoj Museum, the Wilding Museum, the Santa Ynez Valley Historical Society, the Santa Ynez Valley Natural History Society and Star Patron of the Solvang Festival Theatre

  • Primary hobby is woodworking

  • Support the Solvang Chamber of Commerce at Business openings and public events
